Source: These data were submitted to NODC by Mimi Tzeng, Dauphin Island Sea
Lab, via e-mail attachment "DWH-fish-trawls.zip".

Actions: Data were copied into the 0-data directory. NODC personnel "unzipped"
the submitted zip file and then removed the zip file. NODC personnel converted
the MS Office .xls spreadsheets to .csv files.

Files:
about/
This directory contains files created by NODC staff, email correspondence, and
other 'negotiable' information between NODC staff and the data provider.

0117516_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row
contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude
in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NODC
may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
generating this file. However, NODC did not change the original data files
under the directory data/0-data/.

0117516_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data.

0-email.txt - E-mail from personnel notifying NODC that they sent their data
to the NODC via e-mail attachment.

This directory contains the data files as submitted to NODC.

77.html - Contains hyperlink to FGDC metadata about the data submitted.

77.txt - Contains FGDC metadata about the data submitted.

77.xml - Contains FGDC metadata about the data submitted.

DWH-fish-trawls.xls - Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet containing 7 separate
worksheets. The worksheets are titled spring 2010, 8-25 2010, 9-17 2010, 10-6
2010, 10-7 2010, spring 2011, and fall 2011. Each spreadsheet contains Cruise
ID, Leg ID, Station ID, Set ID, Start Latidue, Start Longitude, End Latitude,
End Longitude, Start Time, End Time, Start Depth, End Depth, Temperature,
Salinity, Weather Code, Fish ID #, Species Name, SL/PCL (standard length or
pre-caudal), FL (fork length), NTL (natural total length), TL (total length), DW
(disk width), Total Weight, Bucket Weight, Fish Weight, Total Count, Samples Taken, 
and Comments. Note there is only temperature and salinity data for April 29, 2010.

data/1-data/
This directory contains files that were converted by NODC from their
originally submitted format under the 0-data/ directory to an archival format.

*.csv - Comma-separated-value (CSV) files that NODC converted from Microsoft
Excel files in 0-data/. There is one CSV file for each Excel spreadsheet. For
multi-spreadsheet files, the sheet name is appended to the file basename,
separated by a dash(-).

This directory contains 7 CSV files.
The spreadsheet fall 2011 also has minutes, fish weight, total count, kg/min,
fish/min data for each station. 

*.pdf - Portable Document Format (PDF) files that NODC converted from
Microsoft Excel files in 0-data/. There is one PDF file for each Excel
spreadsheet. For mult-spreadsheet files, the sheet name is appended to the
file basename, separated by a dash (-). 

This directory contains 7 PDF files. PDF files allow the data to be viewed in
a web browser with the correct symbols. There is no issue with symbols in CSV
files if downloaded.

Longitudes are in the Western Hemisphere and Latitudes are in the Northern
Hemisphere for each file.
